Geoffrey Chatten

Geoffrey Chatten was born in Norfolk in 1938, and started painting with oils in the 1960s. By the 1980s, Geoffrey Chatten was working at a professional level. With no formal painting instruction, he developed a unique impressionistic technique within his studio, which is now packed with scores of sketchbooks. While he produces oil paintings of the UK, particularly the landscapes and seascapes of Norfolk and Suffolk, every piece starts with a preliminary series of sketches.

The Fransham Gallery is the only officially endorsed by Geoffrey Chatten seller and distributer of his four limited edition prints, Each picture is a run of 250 only and are signed and numbered by the artist.

Geoffrey Chatten became a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1995 and is a member of the Royal British Artists Society.

Geoffrey passed away on 02/04/2025.
